“The world is full of beautiful places.
Let your heart be one of them.”

here's to Sunday afternoons,
cups of coffee, music
& an escape into one's
digital darkroom.

weekend sounds:
blackbird in the backyard
laughter of friends around the dinner table
deep breaths
weekend scents:
peonies
myrrhe balthazar
freshly soaped floors
steamy asparagus risotto wafting from the kitchen
today,
the company of my mother.
we plan to go out,
perhaps visit a museum,
sit in the sun with a coffee cup.
a rare treat to have her all to myself for a moment.
sweet sunday my dear friend.

hymn to the weekend.
(last pic a vertical version
for the 52 week photography challenge,
artistic, still life)

Sunday, 6 March 2016
it's been one of those weeks
that appears out of nowhere
to cast a dark shadow,
yet shines a whole new light
on where the heart is,
making my loved ones glow.
mornings are always full of promise,
weekend mornings an entire universe of their own.
feeling the city awakening around you,
as you clutch that morning coffee,
head still half-buried in dreams.
inspired by images by model turned photographer/fashion designer
Sanna Saastamoinen-Barrois in Trendi magazine
(glimpsed on my desk in the top photo),
another of her stunning sets of Caroline de Maigret here.
wishing you a restful Sunday
right where you are.
