A Roman holiday

Home for a couple of days after some sweltering days in Rome. Each day we'd walk for miles&miles under the scorching sun, followed by dinner on a piazza or little side street in the velvety, balmy evening.
A little escapade for just the two of us.
And I left a piece of my heart behind.

I'm sure we'll be back one day :) I was pleasantly surprised actually, as I'd heard so much about the hoards of tourists and there not being much authenticity left. And of course there are plenty of tourist traps and knick-knacks, but also lovely side streets and the real thing, too.

Thanks Herma, it was my first time and I sure wasn't disappointed. But that heat was a little exhausting I must say :)

mm .. one seem to leave
a piece of ones heart
behind in places like
these ..

’she left pieces of her life behind her
everywhere she went.
it's easier to feel the sunlight
without them, she said.’
